Blasting as a pre-treatment

Do you have questions regarding coatings?

Blasting as pre-treatment – the removal of adhering impurities and pre-treatment for the following application of the coating in one technical process step

Blasting is one of the most common mechanical pre-treatment processes. In this process, adhering impurities are removed from the surface of the material with the blasting material, which is accelerated in the system. The resulting new surface has a different roughness and is ideally suited for subsequent coating.

The correct selection of the blasting material used depends on the existing material of the component, the type and severity of the contamination and the required or desired surface roughness for the subsequent coating or cleaning process.
